The Unrehearsed Shakespeare Company will soon be the proud owners of ten wooden swords, thanks to the Black Swan Armoury! (www.blackswanarmoury.com).
Wooden swords are great for combat in Chicago because: A) they take up less space than proper broad swords, B) they are safer in confined spaces, C) they are far less likely to attract the attention of local authorities.
The Mack is back! Coming Soon!
November 12th and 19th!
Check it out on the Facebook.
Today, the Reconstructing Grimm team (Perry Heideman and Liz Shipe) put together a photo shoot. Here’s their cast shot. Look at all those lovely people! You should come watch them onstage!
Check out the gallery under Production Photos to see more photos from the set, OR check out Reconstructing Grimm on the ol’ Facebook machine.
The incredibly talented and not-un-Jesus-like Zach Zembrowski has put up the Hanging Tent for A Thousand Times Goodnight!
That’s it! Bask in all its glory! (that’s me in the back, pretending to work).
Three cheers for Chad Tallon, who just donated exactly $69 dollars to our Kickstarter page, bringing us to exactly $1000. We can do it!
THE BETH IS BACK! The Unrehearsed Shakespeare Company is closing its prolific 2013 season with the show that started it all. MacBeth (or “The Scottish Play,” as it’s called by pretentious tools) was first performed in the Unrehearsed style in December of 2009, then reprised for the Region 5 KCACTF festival in January of 2010. Rather than the usual spooky fair, the Audience made it an intense, action-packed extravaganza, and both productions ended with crowds shouting in elation as MacDuff delivered his final blow.
Will 2013’s MacBeth be the same? It’s coming your way November 12th and 19th, still well enough after the Halloween fiddle-faddle. Will debut-director Danny Pancratz (who played the title role in both prior productions) bring a new performance out of the major players? Will Chicago Audiences create a dark ambiance? How will the Scottish forces react to the cramped spaces of Chicago venues? Only one way to find out!
MacBeth!
November 12th & 19th!
After three or four years of Wix, I find I don’t know anything about building a website. So sit back and enjoy the show.
