NATHAN DUCKER plays Shah Zaman

Nathan Ducker has immensely enjoyed his first rehearsed experience with the Unrehearsed Shakespeare Company! He has previously appeared in Titus Andronicus and Richard III with Unrehearsed, and was most recently seen in The Winter’s Tale with Fury Theatre. Other favorite credits include Mercutio in Shakespeare’s R&J with Idle Muse theatre company (Jeff nom) and Puck in A Midsummer Night’s Dream with the James Downing Theatre. Many thanks to Jared for being such a challenging yet nurturing director/writer/teacher, to the cast for being such fun playmates every day, and to my parents for being my biggest fans. Enjoy, gentles!

SHAH ZAMAN, the Sultan’s brother, has been driven from his county by civil unrest. Now he lives in the Sultan’s palace, begging him daily for the aid he needs to retake his own throne. Perhaps overly concerned with position and authority, Zaman allows himself to be led by the nose into a dangerous power-play.

“I cannot stomach poetry amore.
The honest man will speak you plain, but he
That speaks in verses, promulgates
Some secret villainy with frilled words.
Yay or nay me, but never sing me more.”
Act IV, Scene 1
